A note about the NSBA, or the Nova Scotia Boatbuilders Association:

The NSBA was formed in 1998 when a few of Nova Scotia's most prominent boatbuilders realized that they could improve construction and design standards, marketing, and workplace standards by working together. Along with dynamic Director Tim Edwards, the staff at NSBA have helped revamp Nova Scotia's reputation as a global boatbuilding centre. Many of the methods used are borrowed from the very successful techniques in place in New Zealand, where industry and government have worked together to make that country one of the best boatbuilding countries in the world.

Builders and suppliers from New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island have now joined the NSBA, improving boatbuilding in the whole of Maritime Canada.

McGowan Marine Design has been an Associate Member of the NSBA since 2002.
