I've drawn and dreamt of boats since my early teens, then graduated from the Westlawn School of Yacht Design at the age of 22. Since then work has included sailing, finish carpentry, Sea Urchin diving (commercial fishing), organic gardening, and organic farm inspecting. McGowan Marine Design was opened in 2001 in Mochelle, near the historic town of Annapolis Royal, in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia.
